March 3, 2025 |

In Minnesota, International Process Plants has leased its fermentation-based biobased acetone and butanol plant in Little Falls to Nuol Green Chemistry. The 40-million-gallon-per-year facility will play a crucial role in producing advanced biobased chemicals to replace petrochemical products with renewable alternatives.

The plant features advanced fermentation systems and extensive utilities, making it an ideal site for Nuol’s innovative biochemical processes.  It also includes four large fermenters, advanced milling and filtration systems, and multistage distillation capabilities, which will enhance Nuol Green Chemistry’s production efficiency. CEO Enrico Steagall highlighted that leasing the plant will accelerate the commercialization of their sustainable chemical products, supporting decarbonization efforts and reducing reliance on traditional petrochemicals.
