In Iowa, the Associated Press reports the Iowa Senate narrowly passed a bill on Monday that would “prohibit the renewal of permits for a carbon dioxide pipeline, limit the use of such a pipeline to 25 years and significantly increase the insurance coverage requirements for the pipeline company,” with the vote so close that it has demonstrated a rift amongst the Republican members of the chamber. As the state’s House of Representatives has already passed the bill, it has now been sent to the governor’s office for signature.
