IOCL’s Panipat refinery certified to produce India’s first co-processed SAF

In India, the Times of India newspaper reports that IOCL’s Panipat refinery is the first in the country to be certified for production of sustainability aviation fuel. The refinery is co-processing used cooking oil with conventional aviation fuel to produce the SAF. Cotecna, who provided the certification, recently became India’s first CORSIA ISCC certifying body. India’s strategy is to scale up SAF production significantly over the next few years with co-processing as a first step.
