INERATEC producers e-fuels and e-waxes at PtL plant in Germany

In Germany, INERATEC has produced the first liters of synthetic e-fuels and e-waxes at its pioneering plant in Frankfurt. The first INERATEC system on a commercial scale, the largest power-to-liquid plant (PtL) of its kind in Europe – and worldwide – is located there. This is an important milestone in the scaling of power-to-liquid (PtL) technology to a market-ready level, thus contributing to the promise to gradually defossilize the global transport and chemical sector.

At the Frankfurt site, the first INERATEC plant on a commercial scale and is designed for the production of up to 2,500 metric tons of sustainable e-fuels and e-waxons per year. It is located in an industrial park, uses renewable hydrogen and biogenic CO2 and produces synthetic hydrocarbons that are processed into drop-in fuels, waxes and chemicals. These products are compatible with the existing infrastructure and will meet the legal requirements for sustainable fuels in various industries, including aviation, shipping and the chemical industry.
