In Indonesia, Reuters reports the country’s biodiesel consumption reached 10.57 billion liters between January and September 2025, nearly 10% more than the year prior thanks to the country’s increase to 40% blending from 35% previously as it seeks to increase its energy independence and reduce fossil fuel imports. A total of 15.6 billion liters have been allocated for blending in 2025. The country is aiming for 50% biodiesel blending during the second half of 2026 with the aim of eliminating fossil fuel imports completely.
