In Indonesia, Palm Oil Magazine reports the country’s competition commission is concerned the government’s plans to boost biodiesel blending to 50% will create unfair competition and impact the price of fresh fruit bunches. With Malaysia at the ready to step in and supply palm oil if the Indonesia’s blending program is too strict, the commission says the proposed blending mandate must take into consideration global market dynamics for palm oil and remain flexible like Malaysia.
