India’s Uttar Pradesh state aims to boost investments in clean fuels

In India, Urban Acres reported that the Uttar Pradesh government, in India, has intensified its push towards a green energy transition, setting ambitious goals to produce compressed biogas (CBG), biocoal, and biodiesel.

The report highlighted that this initiative not only aims to enhance the state’s sustainability and energy security but also serves as a key driver for rural development, waste management, and the promotion of clean energy. 

The report added that the expected investments in this sector will lay the foundation for the development of critical bioenergy infrastructure across the state. Some of the prominent investors include major players such as Reliance Bio Energy Limited, Indian Oil, Lakhimpur Kheri RNG Pvt Ltd, Adani Total Energies Biomass Limited, and Circle CBG India Private Limited. These companies are set to establish multiple CBG plants in key locations such as Jalaun, Jaunpur, Basti, Mathura, and Meerut, contributing significantly to Uttar Pradesh’s growing bioenergy capacity.

The state government said that plans include a daily production of 1,000 tons of CBG, 4,000 tons of biocoal, and 2,000 kiloliters of biodiesel.
