India’s bamboo ethanol producer considering SAF in future but needs more volume

In India, the Assam Tribune reports Numaligarh Refinery Limited is already exploring the possibility of producing sustainable aviation fuel with the ethanol it produces from its recently launched bamboo-based ethanol plant. However, since the plant only produces 50,000 metric tons per day, in order to justify investment in upgrading to SAF, the company says more 2G production needs to come online so the volumes can be aggregated. First the company wants to ensure production stability at the facility before contemplating expansion.
