In India, the Hindu Business Line reports the Indian Sugar Mills Association is asking the government to consider raising prices for sugarcane-based and B-heavy molasses-based ethanol to help ensure farmers get paid on time while achieving viability for the sector. Prices for ethanol from those feedstocks haven’t been raised in two years. C-heavy molasses-based ethanol saw a 3% increased approved last week. ISMA said its members have the financial ability to build up more production capacity for ethanol.
