In India, the Solar Energy Corporation of India reports that India’s green ammonia auctions have hit new lows, with prices dropping to ₹51.8 per kilogram in its latest tender. The winning bid came from NTPC Renewable Energy for Krishana Phoschem’s 70,000-ton-per-year plant in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh. Just days earlier, Oriana Power secured a price of ₹52.25/kg for a 60,000-ton plant by Madhya Bharat Agro Products in nearby Sagar.
The back-to-back auctions mark a sharp compression in green ammonia pricing, down to $591 per ton. Run under the aegis of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and backed by the Department of Fertilizers, the offtake agreements span 10 years, locking in demand for producers while signaling cost stability to investors.
