India removes restrictions on sugarcane ethanol feedstock from November

In India, Reuters reports the government has agreed to allow for sugarcane juice and molasses to be used as ethanol feedstock in the next marketing year that begins on Nov. 1 without restrictions, following restrictions during the current season due to smaller than expected sugarcane production. Even though no limits on how much sugarcane can be diverted for ethanol production, the government will occasionally review volumes to ensure there is sufficient sugar production for domestic consumption.
