India raises prices for C heavy molasses-based ethanol by 3%

January 29, 2025 |

In India, the Financial Express newspaper reports that the cabinet has agreed to increase prices for C heavy molasses-based ethanol by 3%. The prices for B heavy molasses- and sugarcane juice-based ethanol remained unchanged. As oil marketing companies buy ethanol predominantly from B heavy molasses and sugarcane juice, the purchasing price for them shouldn’t change very much. The government is seeking to focus on the most efficient producers. The policy is aimed at helping the country achieve 20% ethanol blending this season, as planned.
