In India, the ministry of new and renewable energy is seeking public comments on the proposed changes to the national biofuel policy. The comment period is open until September 20 and feedback can be sent to biofuels.mnre@gov.in. At the moment, the policy requires oil marketing companies to distribute, store and market biofuels but the new policy seeks to allow producers to market their biofuels freely without going through an OMC as intermediary.
