September 24, 2025 |

In India, Business Today reports the government has approved the export of second generation ethanol now that consumption reached the E20 target in July, five years ahead of schedule. Ethanol for both fuel and non-fuel use are allowed for export immediately but only when it “is permitted for fuel and non-fuel purposes, subject to a valid export authorization and feedstock certification from the relevant competent authority”, said India’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi was already encouraging sugar mills to export ethanol earlier this month.
