In India, Chemical Industry Digest reported that Union Minister Shripad Naik outlined the Indian government’s ambitious goal to capture 10% of the global green hydrogen demand, projected to exceed 100 million metric tons by 2030.
The report stated that the government has awarded 3,000 megawatts of electrolyzer manufacturing capacity to 15 companies. This initiative is expected to accelerate domestic production and reduce reliance on imports.
Additionally, under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, 19 companies have secured production capacity totaling 862,000 tons annually. According to Minister Naik, the ultimate aim of this initiative is to transform India into both a major producer and a leading exporter of green hydrogen, the report added.
