The demonstration aims to improve the efficiency of bioethanol production by combining the pretreatment process using waste paper and the saccharification fermentation process. In cooperation with TOPPAN Holdings, ENEOS aims to improve the efficiency of manufacturing by verifying technologies to improve the accuracy of removing unnecessary substances and extracting fiber components through the pretreatment process, as well as by continuously inserting raw materials and extracting ethanol in the glycation fermentation process. IHI Plant is in charge of EPC for the saccharified fermentation process pilot plant by making use of the bio-planting technology we have cultivated so far.
The pilot plant was built in the Fuji Plant of Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd., and the amount of waste paper input is scheduled to be about one to three tons / day, and the production volume of bioethanol is scheduled to be about 300L / day.
