In the UK, World Grain reported that world total grains output in the 2025-26 marketing year is seen reaching a record 2.404 billion tons, according to the International Grains Council’s (IGC) most recent Grain Market Report.
The report forecast a 23-million-ton month-on-month increase in corn production, due mainly to upgraded acreage and yield projections in the United States. If realized, this year’s corn output would set a record at 1.299 billion ton, a 5% increase over last year’s all-time high.
The IGC also forecast smaller month-on month increases for wheat, sorghum and oats. Wheat production in 2025-26 is pegged at a record 811 million tons, up 1.3% year on year, according to the report.
After three consecutive years of reduced ending stocks, the IGC said year-end total grains inventories “could expand by 13 million tons, but with stocks still seen tighter than average.”
