Hydrogen moves ahead in Sarawak with new Scottish-Malaysian pact

July 27, 2025 |

In Scotland, Scottish green hydrogen specialist Logan Energy said it is set to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen infrastructure in Sarawak, following the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Malaysian company H2 Energy last week.

The MoU between Logan Energy and H2 Energy was signed during International Energy Week (IEW) 2025 in Kuching, Sarawak.

One of the projects is the Kuching Urban Transport System (KUTS), which will provide the 700,000 residents of Greater Kuching with a hydrogen-powered public transportation network.

H2 Energy has already delivered a hydrogen energy system at Long Loyang Clinic, which is powering critical services for over 2,000 residents in the rural, off-grid village. Logan Energy will support scaling the technology, potentially impacting tens of thousands of people living in rural communities across Sarawak.
