Hong Kong boosting domestic biodiesel consumption after EU closed its doors

In Hong Kong, the South China Morning Post reports the Business Environment Council says the European Union’s high tariff trade barriers on imports of biodiesel from China actually provides a key opportunity for the island to boost its consumption of renewable fuels. More than 90% of the island’s biodiesel production is currently exported but since the EU imposed anti-dumping duties on Chinese biodiesel in August, exporters have since found a home market for a wide range of uses including construction equipment.
