In India, BioEnergy Times reported that Honeywell said SAF One Energy Management Limited will be producing sustainable aviation fuel using its UOP Ecofining process technology.
Tata Projects Limited, the engineering and construction arm of the Tata Group, has been named the engineering, procurement and construction partner for the project. Honeywell and Tata Projects will work together to deliver a combined solution designed to meet the specific needs of SAF One’s facilities, according to the report.
Honeywell’s Ecofining technology, developed along with Italy-based energy company Eni, S.p.A converts waste fats, oils and greases into renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel. The process is designed to lower overall project costs while making use of widely available waste materials, it added.
SAF One plans to turn used cooking oil and other waste oils into aviation fuel, using Honeywell’s technology.
