In Brazil, Safras & Mercado reported that the harvest of the 2024/25 summer corn crop in Brazil reached 74.5% of the estimated area of ​​3.512 million hectares as of April 17.

According to a survey by Safras & Mercado, harvesting work reaches 90.4% of the cultivated area of ​​886,000 hectares in Rio Grande do Sul, 85.6% of the 583,000 hectares planted in Santa Catarina, 93.4% of the cultivated area of ​​532,000 hectares in Paraná, 84.9% of the 294,000 hectares planted in São Paulo, 32.6% of the 28,000 hectares planted in Mato Grosso do Sul, 40.9% of the 290,000 hectares cultivated in Goiás/Distrito Federal, 50.2% of the 858,000 hectares cultivated in Minas Gerais and 100% of the 10,000 hectares cultivated in Mato Grosso.

In the same period last year, the harvest reached 75.7% of the estimated area of ​​3.972 million hectares for the 2023/24 summer harvest. The average harvest over the last five years for the period is 76.4%, the report stated.
