Hapag-Lloyd begins using Mabanaft’s B30 in Hamburg

December 16, 2024 |

In Germany, Mabanaft has reached an agreement with the shipping company Hapag-Lloyd for the supply of B30 biofuel. A first test delivery of 1,000 metric tons of B30 VLSFO from Mabanaft’s Waltershof tank terminal was scheduled for December 12 in the port of Hamburg for the container ship Delaware Express.

The delivery follows an extensive analysis of possible bio-components that Mabanaft can add to B30 biofuel. All options were analyzed for their quality and potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The agreement with Hapag-Lloyd is for an initial supply of 1,000 tons of B30. Additional volumes could follow in 2025.
