October 20, 2024 |

In Argentina, Biodiesel Argentina reported that Argentine company Grupo Bahía Energía will invest approximately $200 million in the first bioethanol plant in Buenos Aires and the first Sustainable Aviation Fuel plant in the country.

The report noted that the project will be carried out through its company Biosanfe, which will install an industrial complex for the production of biofuels (ethanol, SAF and biomethanol) from corn. The projection is to generate 600 jobs for construction and approximately 180 qualified positions afterwards.

The report also noted that the project will have three stages of execution; in the first, 150,000 cubic meters of ethanol for domestic consumption will be produced and, in a second, another module will be added to produce the same volume of sustainable aviation fuel. The third is for by-products, such as biomethanol and DDGS for animal feed, which will reach 200,000 tons.
