Germany demands defense ministry buy military fuel pipeline network to allow Sunoco takeover of TanQuid

In Germany, Seeking Alpha reports that the national government has set as a condition to approve Sunoco’s takover of TanQuid, the country’s largest independent petrochemical and biofuel storage operator that is currently 51% owned by the German government, that the defense ministry buy the company’s vital military fuel pipeline network. The country has been cracking down on foreign investments of critical infrastructure that can have security implications, especially those by Chinese entitites, although the government didn’t make any specific comments regarding those risks when demanding the sale of the pipeline network.
