Gen2 Energy secures capacity for Mosjøen green hydrogen project

January 8, 2026 |

In India, Solar Quarter reported that Gen2 Energy has secured capacity for the first phase of its green hydrogen project at Nesbruket in Mosjøen, Norway marking a key milestone in the development of the facility.

The initial phase will enable production of up to 30 tons of liquefied green hydrogen per day, with plans to scale operations over time to the project’s full capacity of 195 MW, according to the report.

The company said the capacity reservation provides the certainty required to advance the project toward a final investment decision and the start of construction. Once operational, the facility is expected to support significant reductions in carbon dioxide emissions, particularly in the maritime sector, where green hydrogen can replace conventional fossil fuels, it added.

Gen2 Energy is a hydrogen project developer with four locations along the Norwegian coast and a total project portfolio of 995 MW.
