In Finland, Auramarine Ltd., based in Turku, and Quadrise Plc, a UK clean energy innovator, signed a collaboration agreement to develop fuel systems and emulsion technologies to help the marine industry meet decarbonization targets and lower operational costs.
Quadrise will provide its MSAR and bioMSAR fuels, which blend water, residual oils, and sustainable bio-components to create lower-emission alternatives to heavy fuel oil. Auramarine will contribute its expertise in modular fuel supply systems and retrofits, including Quadrise’s blend-on-board technology, enabling conversions without dry docking.
Auramarine CEO John Bergman called the partnership essential, saying, “The current uptake of future fuels needs to be accelerated to meet decarbonization targets within the maritime industry and new, viable innovations are essential to delivering this.”
Quadrise CEO Jason Miles added, “This collaboration is in line with our strategy of working with new channel partners to decarbonize shipping, adding the necessary expertise, network and resources of Auramarine in marine fuel systems to accelerate the implementation of MSAR and bioMSAR fuel conversions globally.”
The partnership aims to bring these cleaner, cost-effective fuel solutions to a wider range of vessels, offering the shipping industry practical tools to align with tightening environmental regulations.
