February 4, 2026 |

In France, bioethanol consumption blended in gasoline (unleaded gasoline and Superethanol-E85) increased by 15%, or more than 19 million hectolitres of bioethanol consumed in France in 2025.

Superethanol-E85 represents 1 in 3 litres of ethanol consumed in gasolines in France. In 2025, the bioethanol consumed in France made it possible to replace the equivalent of 1 million metric tons of oil and to avoid 2.7 million metric tons of CO 2 compared to fossil fuels, the equivalent of CO 2 emissions of 1.4 million cars.
