European Energy expands Måde power-to-X facility In Denmark

December 25, 2025 |

In India, SolarQuarter reported that European Energy has started hydrogen production at its expanded Måde Power-to-X facility following the successful installation and commissioning of an additional electrolyzer.

With this expansion, the total electrolysis capacity at the site has increased from 3.1 MW to 8.1 MW. The Måde facility had been operating commercially with a 3.1 MW electrolyzer supplied by Stiesdal. The newly installed electrolyzer, provided by Plug Power, produced its first hydrogen on 10 December 2025 during an initial operational run, operating at 10% capacity and 40 bar pressure.

Lars Dyrholm, Director and Head of PtX Asset Management & Operations at European Energy, stated that the expansion of electrolysis capacity at Måde represents a significant step in advancing the company’s Power-to-X initiatives. He highlighted that the new unit enables testing of system performance under operational conditions and supports the development of commercially viable hydrogen production based on up-to-date technical standards.

The company plans to test multiple electrolyzers at the site to evaluate their commercial performance, reinforcing its commitment to advancing green hydrogen production and supporting Denmark’s energy transition, according to the report.
