In Washington, ProFarmer reports the Environmental Protection Agency has sent its proposal for the renewable volume obligation (RVO) for 2026 and beyond, together with its final rule to partially waive the 2024 cellulosic biofuel mandate, to the White House Office of Management and Budget for approval. The report says unconfirmed reports expect the biodiesel mandate to be 600 million gallons below what the industry says it can supply, at just 4.65 billion gallons. The cellulosic biofuel waiver proposed last December would cut the 2024 cellulosic biofuel volume requirement from 1.09 billion Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs) to 0.88 billion.
