In Washington, Reuters reports the Environmental Protection Agency plans to rule on dozens of the 161 small refinery exemption petitions currently pending review. The Trump Administration says the backlog is due to the Biden Administration’s refusal to rule on them and has promised to make quick work of them. The EPA administrator told a congressional hearing that he wants his agency to get caught up quickly. The first Trump Administration approved enough SREs to weigh down the price of RINs, upsetting many biofuel producers, and the current administration is getting ready to release its RVO proposal for next year.
