In Bulgaria, Renewables Now reported that Renewable energy company Enertrag SE has agreed to purchase a site for a 130-MW green hydrogen production plant in Prenzlau, north-eastern Germany.

The planned facility is expected to generate up to 12,500 tons of green hydrogen annually entirely from renewable electricity. The fuel will be fed into the FLOW pipeline, part of the German hydrogen core network, and will be supplied to industrial customers in the steel, cement, glass and fertilizer industries, as well as in the mobility sector.

The planned investment is around $351.8 million. The initiative is financed under the IPCEI Hy2Infra program, according to the report.

The project is currently in the technical planning phase. Enertrag said it plans to submit the approval documents shortly, the report added.
