Energisa Group to invest $18.65M in Brazilian biomethane project

In Brazil, the Energisa Group has acquired 52% of Lurean, a company located in Carambeí, Paraná, and which operates in the treatment of waste and commercialization of organic fertilizer. With this acquisition, the Company’s second biomethane production plant will be built, with a production capacity of 28,000 m3/day of biomethane from its completion. The total estimated investment for the plant is R$100 million and the forecast entry into commercial operation is in 1Q28.  

The transaction strengthens the portfolio diversification strategy of the Energisa Group, with expansion of the presence in the biomethane and biofertilizer segment, in addition to the recognition as a company of complete energy solutions aimed at customer demands for low carbon fuels and the boost of the sustainable circular economy in agro-industrial production chains.
