April 2, 2025 |

In the UK, ENEOS, A.P. Moller Holding, and A.P. Moller – Maersk announced a $100 million investment in C2X to fund the final development of the Beaver Lake Renewable Energy project in Louisiana and expand C2X’s global green methanol portfolio, including sites in Spain, Egypt, and other U.S. locations.

The BLRE facility, developed by C2X and SunGas Renewables, is expected to produce over 500,000 tonnes of green methanol annually once operational. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026. The project will also capture and sequester 1 million tonnes of surplus biogenic CO₂ per year, generating carbon dioxide removal credits.

“We truly appreciate the continued support of our existing shareholders, and we welcome our new partner, ENEOS, as a significant shareholder in C2X,” said Brian Davis, CEO of C2X.

Satoru Otatsume, General Manager at ENEOS, said, “Together, this new strategic partnership shall enhance ENEOS’ low carbon activities to develop a world scale business producing and marketing green molecules globally.”
