Datagro Grãos raises estimate for Brazilian 2024/25 corn harvest to 134 million tons

In Brazil, Noticias Agricolas reported that local firm DATAGRO Grãos estimated that the projection for corn production in Brazil was revised upwards, from 132.7 to 134.0 million tons. The volume represents an increase of 10% in relation to the corn harvested in 2023/24, which totaled 122 million tons.

The report highlighted that the recently harvested summer crop is estimated at 25.4 million tons, an increase of 2.8% compared to that recorded in the 2023/24 season (24.7 million tons), even with a 6% reduction in the planted area.

Second-crop corn, which accounts for 81% of national production, is projected at 108.5 million tons, 11% higher than the 97.3 million tons harvested in 2023/24, the report added.
