CyRide awarded $14.6M to improve bus system including converting 20 buses to B100

In Iowa, CyRide has been awarded $14.6 million through the Federal Transit Administration’s Bus and Bus Facilities Competitive Program to expand its administrative, maintenance, and bus storage facility and convert 20 buses to 100% biodiesel (B100).

This includes installation of an underground B100 fuel tank and on-site blending equipment to support year-round use. CyRide is currently operating five buses on B100 as part of a pilot program launched last year. Early results have been promising, showing strong performance and reduced emissions.
