In Brazil, BNamericas reported that Brazilian steelmaker CSN signed a protocol of intent with state oil firm Petrobras to build a green hydrogen plant in Paraná state. “The signing of this protocol of intent is aligned with CSN’s medium and long-term decarbonization plan and reflects the group’s commitment to sustainability and the transition to a low-carbon economy. To achieve the goal of reducing carbon intensity by 20% per ton of crude steel by 2035, CSN seeks synergies across all its operations and integrates its decarbonization efforts with strategic partnerships, accelerating positive impacts throughout its value chain,” CSN said. “The cross-sector cooperation between CSN and Petrobras highlights the importance of strategic partnerships in addressing the challenges of accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy.
