Corn production estimate cut by 300,000 tons in Argentina’s core region

March 29, 2025 |

In Argentina, Agritotal reported that the corn production estimate in the country’s core region was adjusted to 7.8 million tons, compared to 8.1 million tons in January 2025, according to the Rosario Grain Exchange.

The report noted that the recovery in rainfall during February came too late for corn crops, which suffered from a lack of water at critical times such as flowering and grain filling.

The chamber highlighted that the greatest adjustments occurred in northern Buenos Aires, which was the area most affected by the lack of water during December and January.
