Consultancy lowers forecast for Brazil’s soybean harvest in 2024/25

February 28, 2025 |

In Brazil, Reuters reported that agribusiness consultancy AgRural cut its forecast for Brazil’s 2024/25 soybean crop on lower yield projections in the key states of Parana, Mato Grosso do Sul and Rio Grande do Sul due to a lack of rain. AgRural now expects Brazil to produce 168.2 million metric tons this season, down from the 171 million it had estimated in January, according to the report. The consultancy said Brazilian farmers had harvested 39% of their planted acreage by Thursday, up 16% points from the previous week and in line with the 40% harvested at this time last year.
