In Brazil, Safras & Mercado reported that Brazil is expected to produce 4.08 billion tons of sorghum in 2026.
This volume will exceed the 3.67 billion tons harvested this year.
According to analyst Paulo Molinari from Safras & Mercado, among the states, the largest production will be recorded in Goiás, with 1.25 billion tons, followed by Minas Gerais, with 1.24 billion tons, and São Paulo, with 449,600 tons. The North/Northeast region is expected to harvest 784,916 tons, according to the report.
Safras & Mercado said it is working with an estimated area of 1.917 million hectares, which should exceed the 1.842 million hectares cultivated with sorghum in 2025. According to Molinari, the state of Minas Gerais should have the largest planted area, with 573,480 hectares, followed by Goiás, with 544,902 hectares.
