Consortium launched to trial B100 ship in Singapore port waters

October 30, 2024 |

In Singapore, China Classification Society (CCS) Singapore Branch signed a four-party research cooperation agreement with Weichai Singapore Pte. Ltd., Marine Energy and Sustainability Research Department of Nanyang Technological University and Pinnacle Marine in Singapore. This project is a B100 biofuel ship power development and joint test, which relies on the ships in Singapore port waters for a 1000-hour continuous operation test of diesel (B100).

This joint project, as the first long-term ship test in Singapore, is of great significance for evaluating the performance and emission data of this biodiesel in long-term engine use, as well as formulating corresponding requirements for onboard storage, operation, refueling technology, etc. By relying on the four-party joint R&D project, CCS will continuously strengthen cooperation with the clients in Singapore, further enhance CCS’s technical service capabilities in the field of biodiesel, and work together to provide assistance and support for promoting the net zero emissions target of the shipping industry.
