In Colombia, in a strategic milestone for the country’s sustainable aviation, Civil Aeronautics and Ecopetrol signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that lays the groundwork for developing the SAF Fly program, aimed at the promotion, research and development of the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in Colombia.
The agreement, which will have an initial three-year period, seeks to join technical, operational, regulatory, commercial and environmental efforts to advance a fair, safe and efficient energy transition for Colombian skies.
This memorandum is aligned with National Development Plan 2022-2026, which prioritizes the promotion of the FAS to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in transport, as well as with the strategic objectives of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in the area of sustainability.
