In Japan, Chiyoda Corporation has been awarded the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contract for installing SAF production facilities in Taiyo Oil Co., Ltd. Okinawa Operations. Taiyo Oil is aiming to supply 200,000 KL of SAF and Renewable Diesel (RD) annually using Ethanol to Jet Technology on the premises of Taiyo Oil’s Okinawa Operations, contributing to the Japanese government’s FY2030 SAF supply target, equivalent to “at least 5% of GHG emissions of jet fuel produced and supplied in Japan in FY2019″. Taiyo Oil’s SAF production project has been selected as a subsidized project under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s ‘Subsidy for Promotion of Transition to a Decarbonized, Growth-Oriented Economic Structure (Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Manufacturing and Supply Chain Development Support Project)’.
