China’s CPECC expresses interest to invest in green hydrogen projects in Algeria

In Algeria, Al24News reported that Noureddine Yassaa, Secretary of State to the Algerian Ministry of Energy responsible for Renewable Energy, met with He Hong San, Executive Vice President of the China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC). During their meeting, He expressed the Chinese company’s interest in investing in Algeria, particularly in the clean energy sector, with a focus on green hydrogen. The Algerian Ministry of Energy highlighted that CPECC’s commitment to developing sustainable energy solutions aligns with the country’s strategic goals to diversify its energy sources and reduce its carbon footprint, according to the report. The report also noted that the discussions centered on potential projects that could leverage Algeria’s renewable energy resources, such as solar and wind, to produce green hydrogen.
