In Pakistan, PTV reported that China has released a comprehensive blueprint to accelerate agricultural modernization, aiming to lift its overall grain production capacity to 700 million tons by 2027 through advancements in technology, innovation, and digital integration.
The plan, which outlines strategic goals for the 2024–2035 period, emphasizes strengthening agricultural technology and equipment, enhancing international competitiveness, and fostering a robust agricultural innovation system, according to the report.
To support this vision, China will invest in basic agricultural research and public welfare institutions, with a focus on genomics, preventive veterinary medicine, and cooperation between major production regions. A significant part of the initiative involves the integration of digital technologies with modern farming practices, the report added.
A nationwide agricultural observation network will be developed, combining satellite, aerial, and ground technologies. Additionally, the plan outlines the creation of a big data platform and improved statistical systems for rural development and agricultural monitoring.
