In Ukraine, UkrAgroConsult reported that China’s Ministry of Agriculture has raised its corn production forecast for the 2025-2026 season (October-September) to 300 million tons, the highest since record-keeping began in 1949.
The report noted that the gross corn harvest forecast is up 1.3% from last month. The yield is higher than previously forecast, despite heavy rainfall in some areas of the northern Great Plain.
The soybean production forecast has been slightly lowered to 20.9 million tons after bad weather impacted crops in some areas of northern and southern China. However, yields remain high in the northeast, where soybean production is concentrated, the report added.
