In Chile, Salmon Expert reports that starting in November, Cermaq Chile will incorporate Bio-LNG into its land transport operations. With this project, the company becomes the first in the aquaculture industry to use Bio-LNG in its land transport operations, guarantee Zero emissions Logistics and reaffirming its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and responsible development.
In its initial phase, the project plans to operate 1,400 trips per year using BioLNG, which will reduces more than 1,380 tons of CO2 equivalent per year. This reduction in emissions corresponding to remove more than 434 cars from circulation. The goal is to cover the whole ground service two years, reaching approximately 2,650 trips per year. This would allow a total reduction of 2,615 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to remove more than 822 cars from circulation.
