In Washington, Brownfield Ag News reports ethanol exports have already slowed ahead of the Trump Administration’s implementation of tariffs on Mexico and Canada as those countries impose counter tariffs. Last week’s jump in ethanol stocks, levels not seen since the pandemic forced people off the roads, were said to be a result of Canada not importing ethanol as usual. Thin crush margins were already impacting ethanol producers, a situation which is likely to get worse as demand slides, which will in turn negatively impact corn demand.
