Calls for investigation into possible air pollution from Universal Biofuels

In India, the New Indian Express newspaper reports the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has called for the Pollution Control Board to launch an inquiry into Universal Biofuels Private Limited following complaints of severe air pollution caused by the facility in Kakinada. Bad odor is said to have been emitted by the plant for the past month. The odor is expected to have been caused by a shift in biodiesel feedstock to acid oils from non-edible palm stearin and refined palm oil previously.
