In Bulgaria, the state news agency BTA reports the transportation ministry has canceled the public tender for 10 new trains that would run on biodiesel because only one bid was received from ZOS Vrutky from Slovakia. The tender was for the first half of the planned 20 trains the government wants to purchase, but under public procurement rules, it can be cancelled when only one bid is received. The ministry will now look at how to rewrite the tender in a way that will attract more bidders to the process.
