Brazil’s soybean harvest is expected to grow, but there are climate concerns, says Pátria AgroNegócios

December 7, 2025 |

In Brazil, Reuters reported that Brazil’s 2025/26 soybean crop is expected to reach a new record of 171.89 million tons, representing a 1.4% annual increase compared to the previous season, according to a projection by consultancy Pátria AgroNegócios.

The company slightly raised its projection compared to the previous assessment of 171.51 million tons, considering a larger area (48.58 million hectares) and higher productivity (3,539 tons/hectare) than previously seen.

But the director of Pátria AgroNegócios warned that the climatic conditions for the La Niña phenomenon are present, according to the report.

“It’s worth noting that the weather forecasts are raising significant concerns,” he said.

“La Niña has never been synonymous with extraordinary productivity,” he said, noting concerns for southern Brazil and areas of São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul.
